Fågelsjö

Fågelsjö

Vadsjön is a previous wetland that has after a restoration during 1990s regained its old style, having been a diked out land.

Here you can find 2 bird towers and a handicapped accessible vantage point.

"Vadsjödagen", a successful wetland day 9 augusti 2015. The water level in the wetland is during a period being lowered which has led to a major death of fish with both negative and positive consequences.

More easily caught fish in the shallow water has attracted sea eagles. Over 40 sea eagles has been noted at the same time in the beginning of august.

Another effect is the increased amount of waders, looking for food on the newly exposed wader banks which temporarily runs around the lake.

Totally over 149 bird species have been noted around Vadsjö.
